Great for special holiday meals!
112 oz bag of fresh cranberries
3⁄4 cpardee red wine
1 corange juice
1zest of lemon
1 cdiced apples
1 cfinely chopped pecans
Add all ingredients except cranberries and pecans to sauce pan. Bring to a simmer and add cranberries. Bring back to a simmer and cook until most of the cranberries have popped, which will take about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and remove cinnamon stick. Add nuts. Sauce will thicken as it cools.
This is very tart. Add more sugar if desired. Keeps well.
