MountainRose Vineyards recently received a Value Added Producer Grant from the USDA to make new sparkling wines. Sparkling wines are some of the hottest growth wines currently on the world market. Grapes for sparkling wines typically grow in cooler climates in the world (Wise!). We will be making the Italian style “frizzante” or semi-sparkling style you may know from some Prosecco or Moscato wines. Fizzy and refreshing, they pair well with almost any dish. Plus it adds something extra special to gatherings, from football tailgates to ladies’ night out.
We will make a new white wine from Traminette and a new red wine from Concord. We hope to have these two ready by late winter or early spring. We are currently trying to name these wines so we can apply for label approval, so PLEASE send us your ideas! Mountain Fizz? Mountain Mist? Bubbly all the Time? See…we need your help!
