Bacchus, Your Royal Wedding Connection

Rumor has it that you and I may not have received our invitation to Harry and Megan’s Royal wedding. Right!? Just in case this is true, MountainRose Vineyards is here to help!

Food and Wine reports that Chapel Down Winery’s dry Bacchus may be one of the wines served at the royal nuptials. Chapel Down’s website indicates this is a “crisp, refreshing white wine with aromas of melon, pineapple, elderflower and grapefruit. The palate is fresh and zesty with flavours of gooseberry and nettle leading to a crisp, dry finish.” Bacchus is a grape variety whose parentage includes the world famous Riesling.

We have just introduced our 2017 Riesling varietal with the flavors of Bacchus, except maybe for the nettle, which we have never tasted! Our Riesling will be your Wine of the Month in May with an extra 10% discount if you tell us it’s for your Royal Wedding Celebration!! Oh Bollocks…just say ‘Royal Wedding’ and we will discount a bottle of Kelliokee as well, since they may also have a sparkling wine!

And don’t forget your mum this month, as Mother’s Day is just around the corner. Invite her to our annual Mother’s Day Out Luncheon, enjoy a tasting and tour, or just pick up her ‘favourite’ bottle of wine. After all, you may be the reason she needs it!
