What is a wine competition?  It is a “blind” tasting by wine experts of large numbers of wines to determine their relative quality on a certain date.
We certainly know how important the environment surrounding the wine experience is.  Food pairing is often critical to the wine tasting because of the interactions with the wine.  Music and wine both affect us at basic psychological levels. But really, wine and music pairing?
Here is a short quiz to test your knowledge of wine in the worldwide market. Answer true or false to each statement below.
We will have local honey by the middle of March!  Suzanne’s father had bee hives and now her brother, Doug, has hives near the winery. Honey is wonderful for coughs and allergies but even better with hot biscuits or even toast.  Come and check out the honey and jellies from locally grown fruit.

We are often asked about storing wine and here are a few basic wine rules for ideal storage. The longer you keep your wines before opening the bottle, the more important it is to follow the rules for the best tasting product.
January is our slowest time at the winery. David filters wine, some blending, and we do planning for the coming year.  The grape vines are very dormant and its been too cold to winter prune.

MountainRose Vineyards picked and processed a record crop of 62,758 pounds of grapes, over 31 Tons. We had grapes come in with near perfect ripening brix, acid and PH and wonderful aromas.  Look for some future award winning wines.
